A professional dog training business based in Inner West Sydney, specializing in helping dog owners, especially those with anxious dogs. The business provides expert training solutions aimed at creating happier, more well-behaved pets and improving the relationship between dogs and their owners.
The Challenge
The business owner, who bootstrapped the company, had tried to DIY the marketing and digital setup. However, the website and tracking systems were a mix of disconnected tools and forms, making it difficult to measure campaign performance accurately.
There were a number of elements that needed to be undone and rebuilt for better integration, as they were working with fragmented systems that didn’t communicate well with each other. With a modest budget of $1,000 for a one-month trial, the goal was to make every dollar count.
What Was Done
Digital Goliath collaborated with the business owner to create a highly targeted and cost-effective Google Ads campaign. Due to the small budget, we chose to focus on the most prominent services—dog training and training for anxious dogs—to ensure we didn’t spread the budget too thin.
Key actions included:

- Implementing Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 to enable precise conversion tracking for all form submissions.
- Revisiting and refining the website’s tracking structure, fixing the disconnected tools to ensure smooth integration.
- Ensuring that every aspect of the campaign, from ad copy to targeting, was aligned with the small budget for maximum efficiency.
This approach allowed the business to stay on track despite the challenges, generating solid results with a limited budget.
The Outcome
The campaign performed exceptionally well within the constraints:
- The Google Ads campaign generated 36 conversions, which was 50% more than the 24 conversions from organic traffic.
- The total spend stayed within the $1,000 budget, with a cost per lead of just $29.
- By focusing on the most critical services, we were able to maximize lead quality and campaign performance despite the budget limitations.
