Six weeks.

That’s enough time to see whether campaigns are heading in the right direction. If conversions, cost per lead, or ROAS aren’t moving by then, something needs to be looked at, whether that’s the targeting, the offer, the landing page, the tracking, or the budget.

If an agency is asking for three or four months before showing you anything, that’s a concern. You should be having meaningful conversations about performance well before that.

It depends on the offer.

If your product or service is visual, novel, or hard to explain in a few words, Meta is the better fit. The platform is built for discovery and works well when you need to create demand before someone is ready to buy.

If your offer is straightforward and people are already searching for it (a chiropractic clinic, a dental practice, a local trade), Google should carry most of the budget, with around 10% going to Meta for remarketing and brand presence.

If you’re running both, the split shouldn’t be fixed. It should shift based on what the data is telling you. A good agency moves spend toward what’s working and pulls back from what isn’t, without you having to ask.

Face to camera video from the owner or operator.

If you’re willing to get on camera and speak directly to your customers, you have a real advantage. Most of your competitors won’t do it, which means the bar to stand out is much lower than people think.

AI tricks, secret programs, email lists, generic stock footage. None of it performs the way it used to. With AI generated content flooding every platform, the things that cut through are unmistakably human. A real face. A real voice. A real opinion.

Founders who show up on camera consistently tend to outperform polished studio ads because trust and recognition compound over time. You become a familiar face in the feed, and that’s worth more than any creative trick.

We’ve tested all three. The numbers haven’t held up for the types of businesses we partner with.

LinkedIn CPMs are among the highest in digital advertising. Works for high-value B2B, but cost per lead is hard to justify for most SMEs.

TikTok performs well for certain ecommerce categories. Service businesses tend to struggle. User behaviour leans toward passive scrolling, not buying intent.

Reddit has been the toughest. In our testing, cost per lead came in at more than ten times what we were seeing on Meta. The audience resists anything that looks like advertising.

If multi-platform presence matters to you, repurposing what’s already working on Meta and Google and distributing it organically elsewhere is usually the smarter move.
