The Anatomy of CPM

CPM is calculated as:

CPM=(Total Ad Spend/Impressions)*1000

Example: If you spend $500 and your ad is shown 100,000 times, your CPM is $5.

This metric helps compare how far your budget can go across platforms. For instance, Facebook may average $7 CPM while YouTube could be closer to $12. To plan effectively, combine CPM with CTR, conversion rate and conversion value for a complete performance picture.
